The air transportation method is used to transport products such as ceramics and wafers, which are extremely sensitive to contamination by impurities. Air pressure from the bottom provides vertical buoyancy, and air pressure from the side provides horizontal propulsion to transport the products. Generally, a sintered metal powder plate is used as the bottom plate of the equipment.

Oblique holes have been made possible by electron beam technology, so that both vertical buoyancy and horizontal propulsion can be produced at the same time. This floating chute has improved the efficiency of air transportation.
