Salt bath nitriding, also known as Tufftride process, is one of the carburizing and nitriding treatments for automotive parts, and is widely used as a method to harden the surface uniformly in a short time. If burrs are adhered to the treated product, they will fall off and accumulate in the treatment tank as sludge during the process. Regular removal of sludge is necessary to control nitriding.

Since the sludge removal process is carried out at about 570°C, a reliant screen is imperative. Our solution? A thick, strong, rust and corrosion resistant screen made of Hastelloy, which is suitable for molten salt.

By installing one of our electron beam drilled screen in the Tufftride processing furnace, sludge removal can be done automatically and rationally.
